Ken Head began racing go karts in 1962 with a go kart 800, and later, with a Fox Kart. He raced in the Los Angeles area primarily at Harbor and Southgate Raceways. In the early 70's he designed and fabricated the Challenger enduro kart. He and his two sons raced at Willow Springs, Ontario Motor Speedway, Laguna Seca and Sears Point. He then had a Sprint car driven by Clyde Dennen, Jr. primarily at Ascot in Gardena, CA. Later he formed a top alcohol funny car team that finished 2nd and 3rd in Division Seven. His drivers included Dennis Taylor, Mert Littlefield, Norm Hill, and Jack Beckman.
He retired from the Fullerton Police Department in 1998 as Captain.
